Restore and Revitalise

After being dragged through the cancer mill you deserve some tender loving care and to be treated as a person rather than a diagnosis. We hope that by supporting you in ways that complement traditional medical care we can help you to improve the effectiveness of your treatment and minimise the time spent in hospital; support you while you find your feet once the treatment is over; and offer tools to help prevent recurrence and live a fulfilled life.

What we offer

Yoga, meditation and relaxation

Our yoga teachers are all specialised in working with people who have had cancer. They understand that not every part of your body is in the right place nor moves quite as it used to. Classes are crafted to meet your needs so that by the end of the week you will feel stronger and more flexible, have gained confidence, and will have stretched yourself in more ways than one.

Because everybody is different we also like to offer a range of meditation practices and relaxation experiences so that you can find one that suits you.

Delicious, nutritious food

We believe that eating should be a pleasure. Influenced by the French and their love of food, we take great joy and pride in serving tasty meals in convivial surroundings, and in taking time to enjoy both the good food and company.

When correctly balanced food can be healing too. Evidence shows that an organic, plant-based diet, rich in good quality fats, high in whole-foods and free of processed sugars helps to prevent cancer and its recurrence. With this recipe for good health as our starting point our kitchen is inspired by a fusion of mediterranean and macrobiotic approaches to cooking. And, of course, we are always happy to cater for any specific needs.

Complementary therapies

The therapies we offer are to treat you not cancer, we want you to feel like a person not a diagnosis. The therapies are designed to help you gently let go of tensions, reconnect with your body, release your emotions and settle your mind. By gently bringing mind and body back into balance you will be better placed to recover your health and vitality.

Our highly professional and experienced therapists offer: massage, shiatsu, reflexology, emotional freedom technique, energetic healing, aromatherapy and counselling.

Peace and quiet in an idyllic setting

We believe that your environment is central to your health and well-being. Stressful work and living conditions, toxins and pollutants, noise and lack of space undermine your body’s resistance and your mental and emotional health. Puissentut’s peaceful setting, with views across fields and woodland, is an antidote to all these strains.

The garden offers plenty of space to unwind, enjoy the peace and breathe in fresh air. You can sun and socialise at the pool and juice bar or find a quiet spot to relax on your own. Woodland paths offer the opportunity for some gentle exercise or, if you’re feeling more intrepid, you can stride out across the fields.

We welcome anyone whose life has been affected by cancer.

It doesn’t matter whether you have cancer for the first time, whether it has recurred, or whether you have been in remission for years we have something to offer you. Likewise, you are very welcome if you are caring for someone with cancer or have lost a loved one to cancer.

Our aim is to provide a supportive, nurturing space where you can simply be yourself. We do not have a philosophy that we want to impose on you and it doesn’t matter if you don’t take anything away with you, but if you do go home inspired we’re always delighted.
